Beijing, China, March 20th, 2014 – Entrusted by National Energy Administration, China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) organized a technological appraisal meeting for HVDC Flexible Control & Protection Equipment “FLECON1000 – CP”, developed by C-EPRI, on March 16^th 2014. The appraisal committee members all agreed that FLECON1000 – CP shows excellent performance and has reached the international advanced level.

As one of the core parts of HVDC Flexible system, the Control & Protection equipment “FLECON1000 – CP” realizes the function of AC-DC conversion, DC transmission power and voltage control, AC system reactive power and voltage control, as well as protection of AC yard equipment, DC yard equipment and converter valve. Research and development (R&D) of the equipment features high level integration, interdisciplinary application and high requirement of reliability.　

Through three years of hard work, C-EPRI has fully mastered the key technologies for HVDC Flexible Control & Protection System, including design, manufacture and system integration, etc. As a result, C-EPRI successively developed the prototype of HVDC Flexible Control & Protection Equipment which passed all the type test and factory tests in one attempt and laid a solid foundation for engineering application in high voltage, large capacity and multi-terminal VSC HVDC project.

The various performance indexes of “FLECON1000 – CP” have reached advanced level worldwide. 33 patents of “FLECON1000 – CP” have been applied and currently under processing, including 25 invention patents.
