C-EPRI has completed an annual planned maintenance of converter valves for Ningdong-Shandong ±660kV HVDC transmission project which was commissioned in 2011. The valve technical service took a total of 60 man days from April 16th to 26th. C-EPRI’s technical service includes 20 items divided into 6 major categories covering single level test, VBE power supply upgrade, and the cleaning, check and defect elimination of valve towers, etc.

The technical service was carried out in accordance with a well-thought-out plan tailored to specific project conditions. A great amount of effort was made in advance, including thorough communication with system operators, staff training, and preparation of necessary materials and equipment. All these combined to a success against a tight schedule.

The completion of annual maintenance will help to guarantee uninterrupted power supply during electricity consumption peak coming up soon this summer.
