To ensure the quality and safety of valve installation for Southern Hami-Zhengzhou ±800kV UHVDC project which is to be put into operation in the end of 2013, a 3-day training course was given by C-EPRI from April 25th to 27th at the request of the Owner and its contracting installer. Trainees include Hami Station Management Office from the Operation Sub-Branch of State Grid Corporation of China, and Shandong Power Transformation &Transmission Company.

The courses comprise illustration of converter valve, valve cooling system and Valve Base Electronics. A site tour to C-EPRI’s HVDC valve lab and workshop was also organized.

This training program was well received by all participating parties due to its well designed and targeted nature. More importantly, it paves the way for the upcoming installation and commissioning.
