September 10, General Manager Tang Guangfu extended a warm welcome to Mr. Moon Ki Cho, Vice President of Power Systems Performance Unit of Hyosung Corporation, for his visit to C-EPRI in Beijing with an aim to establish links and seek potential collaboration. Other attendees include heads of Solution Business Team and New Business Team in Hyosung, and relative engineers.
Mr. Cho hoped that the two companies could build a close relationship with each other and keep frequent contacts, so as to get a good start in collaboration on HVDC projects in Korea and around the world. While introducing the history and business areas of Hyosung, he mainly touched upon the superior products of the Power Systems PU (Performance Unit), their market shares as well as the collaborative meeting points with C-EPRI.
Mr. Tang Guangfu shared information of C-EPRI with respect to the R&D and industrial capabilities in HVDC field, especially the development and project reference of UHV (Ultra-High Voltage) valve A5000, as well as the capability of supplying HVDC Flexible System (VSC-HVDC technology) and its engineering application.
The two sides also discussed the HVDC market in Korea and explored the possibilities of cooperation modes to enhance competitiveness basing on complementary advantages.
After the meeting, Mr. Cho and his colleagues visited C-EPRI’s HVDC valve test lab and production workshop. He remarked “impressive” for C-EPRI’s efforts and achievements in the R&D, testing, manufacturing and engineering of HVDC technology.
Built in 1957, Hyosung is one of the seven largest comprehensive companies in Korea. The Power Systems PU was established in 1962 and mainly provided power transformers and gas insulated switchgears (GIS). Their products have entered into world markets like Europe, America, Middle East and Asia.
