Beijing, China, October 31st – A six-member group consisting of both technical and commercial specialists from C-EPRI and CSEPDI (Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute) took a trip to London of the United Kingdom to attend the Tender Clarification Meeting (TCM) of EA One project on October 27th. Another three bidding entities include ABB, Siemens and Alstom.

EA One Project is the first phase of the offshore wind project on the East Anglia Zone of England, which is being developed by East Anglia Offshore Wind (EAOW, the Owner). This project is located in the south of East Anglia zone, which is 43.4 kilometers offshore and covers a sea area of 305 square kilometers. The capacity of the project is 1200 MW. The first stage of the tender was initiated on June of 2013, with commissioning to be expected in 2018. The entire East Anglia offshore wind development project stretches around 6000 square kilometers, and has a total capacity of 7200MW.

C-EPRI’s R&D and manufacturing capacity have been well acknowledged by EAOW after the prequalification in May and a subsequent field trip. The Tender Documents were officially offered in June, and the responsive Bidding Documents were submitted in September, followed by the TCM.

Each bidder was assigned one day to conduct both technical and commercial clarification. C-EPRI has made detailed clarification regarding the Owner’s concerns.

Evaluation of Bid will kick off after the TCM; two consulting companies have been hired by the Owner for evaluation of bid, and only two of the four bidders will survive for Stage 2, at the end of which the successful bidder will be finally selected.

The whole selection procedure will conform to standard international practices, which will not only test C-EPRI’s technical and commercial capabilities, but also provide a valuable opportunity to gain experience for future international projects.
