Beijing, China, December 4th, 2013 - An Entrepreneur Training Workshop for Young Scientists and Engineers was held from November 25 to 28 in Israel. A total number of 30 representatives were invited to attend the workshop; Dr. Guangfu Tang is one of the two attendees representing China.
During the workshop, Dr. Tang delivered a presentation with regard to his career in the field of UHVDC; he also shared valuable experiences of his transition from a researcher to an entrepreneur, which was deeply appreciated by other participants.
The workshop is hosted by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and is sponsored by IAP, AASSA and the GYA. The objectives of the workshop are:
• To learn from researchers who have successfully initiated new technological ventures
• To
emphasize the importance of start-up ventures as a means of improving local
economies and connecting science with society
• To share experiences making the transition from bench to business
• To establish a cadre of young entrepreneurs in Asia.
“Sharing the Start-up Experience” is intended for Global Young Academy (GYA) Members and other outstanding early career scientists and engineers working in Asia who have already been awarded their PhD degrees and are interested in acquiring innovation skills and making a contribution to the economies of their countries.
