Beijing, China, September 9, 2014—C-EPRI participated in the 45th CIGRE Session (CIGRE 2014) in Paris, France, which took place between August 24 and 29.
The CIGRE Session is considered the world's leading event for power system industry. This year's event has attracted over 13600 members and 213 commercial and academic organizations from 81 countries.
Four C-EPRI experts attended CIGRE B4 conference and related working group meetings, and 6 presentations were made covering frontier HVDC technologies like UHVDC, VSC-HVDC and DC Grid. At the B4 closing meeting, Dr. Guangfu Tang delivered a special report on China’s ±1100kV UHVDC development, and introduced C-EPRI’s innovative valve products.
In parallel with academic activities, C-EPRI was also active at the Technical exhibition. During the 5-day show, C-EPRI put spotlight on its HVDC solutions and project reference, which has drawn widespread attention from both utilities and equipment suppliers worldwide. They showed keen interest in C-EPRI's contracting capability of HVDC projects, and looked forward to further contact for prospective cooperation.
Other highlights include two models of the core equipment for HVDC transmission, namely, the innovative M2000 HVDC FlexibleⓇ valve and the powerful A5000 UHVDC valve, which are newly designed to drive the evolution of power grids over the next decade.
This is C-EPRI's second presence in the event, demonstrating its ambition to make its business global.
