Beijing, China, February 9 - A Pakistan delegation led by Mr. Muhammad Waseem Younas, from National Transmission & Despatch Company (NTDC) Limited paid a visit to C-EPRI on February 5, 2015 and discussed the development of a ±660kV HVDC project in Pakistan. Mr. Baokui Sun, Deputy General Manager of C-EPRI warmly welcomed the delegation.
A tour was first arranged to Power System Power Electronics Laboratory and HVDC converter valve production workshop. And then a meeting was held to exchange more information. Mr. Younas talked about the power shortage in Pakistan and the huge market opportunities. Mr. Sun introduced C-EPRI’s HVDC capability and rich experience in long distance HVDC transmission projects. C-EPRI also addressed the guests’ concern about project planning and execution, like feasibility study, converter station design and after-sales services. The two parties showed great interest in each other and wished to cooperate in the development of HVDC projects in Pakistan.
Next, C-EPRI will closely follow up the project and provide substantial support for project development.
